Dewey Robert Cook

Dewey Robert Cook, age 61 of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington. Born May 15, 152, in Buchanan County, VIrginia, he was the son of the late Walter Colton and Vernie Ellen Ball Cook. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joel Cook and great grandsons, Justin Kent Renfro and Jacob Renfro. Dewey was a farmer and a member of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his children, Robert W. (Tonya) Cook of Elk Lake; Christopher (Tanya) Cook of Mt. Sterling; Lisa (Marty) Renfro of Owenton; Stephanie (Eddie) Coubert of Frankfort and Angela Noe of Owenton; four brothers, Roland, Floyd, Lowell and Luther Cook; two sisters, Leathey Hale and Jennifer (Wylie) Shortridge; twelve grand children and twelve great grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church on Friday, December 20th from 11am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
