Denny Townsend

Vernon R. "Denny" Townsend, Jr., age 65, of Owenton, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

Born November 11, 1957, in Lexington, KY he was the son of the late Vernon R. "Red" Townsend and Slyvia "Jean" Brewer Townsend who survives. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dewayne Townsend.  Denny was a mechanic for Best One Tire and worked for American Linen for over 30 years. He enjoyed working on and driving his dune buggy and watching drag racing at Thorn Hill Raceway.  Denny also loved cooking and feeding his family and friends at gatherings.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of over 33 years, Rose Yoste Townsend; his mother Jean Townsend; his sons, Keith and Anthony Case; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Brittany, Chuck, Skylan, and Lizzie; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Denny's wish was to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later time.
