Dennis Marvin Davis

Dennis Marvin Davis, 68, passed away Thursday March 3, 2022 at his home. He was born October 3, 1953 in Owenton the son of the late Marvin Porter and Betty Beckham Davis. Dennis graduated from Owen County High School and was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church. He started working for Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources in 1973. He was a Life member of the NRA, United Trappers of Kentucky and the Goldwing Road Riders Association. He was also a member of the American Motorcycle Association. Dennis received many accolades and awards during his career including Outstanding Officer for the Southeastern Association of Game and Fish Commissioners. He was named Kentucky Officer of the Year in 1987. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and motorcycle races. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, trapping and outdoor cooking. He loved his family and his love for the outdoors and his hunting and trapping skills have carried on to them.

He is survived by his wife, Chris Hitter Davis, his children, Courtney (Cody) Beckham and Taylor (Jessica) Davis, four grandchildren, Lockett, Tillie, Waylon and Bennett, one sister, Rita English, three brothers, Greg, Kevin and Tim Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8 at McDonald & New - Seminary St. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at St Joseph Catholic Church in Warsaw, KY at 1:00PM with visitation from Noon Til 1. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Foundation - Cancer Center. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery.
