Delois Marston Clifton

Delois Marston Clifton, age 91, of Owenton, passed away Thursday morning, June 18, 2020, at the Owenton Center.

Born August 28, 1928, in the Rockdale community of Owen County, she was the daughter of the late George and Ethel Musselman Shelton and the widow of James Marston and Burnis Clifton. She was also preceded in death by her son Gary Clifton. Dee was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and will be remembered as a fun-loving grandmother who loved yard sales, visiting with friends, and collecting cookbooks.  Those 500 cookbooks helped her become a wonderful cook whose fried chicken will be missed.  Delois worked as a cashier for Saveway and drove for the Meals on Wheels program.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy Marston, Mike (Carla) Marston, Karen Centers, Tammy Napier, and Sheila Smith; her sisters, Sue Sipple and Betty Lawrence; her grandchildren, Phadra Marston, Tonya Marston Miller, Drew Marston, Breann Bond, Glenn Albert Smith, James Marston, Chase Napier, Bracken Napier, Jarrod Merriss, Cody Alexander, Matthew Clifton and Kevin Clifton; and her great-grandchildren Cole, Elaina, Miles, Tucker, Rhiley, Jaxon, Josie and Amelia.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location, on Sunday, June 21, 2020, from 4 pm until 8 pm. This will be a pass-through visitation with social distancing and visitors are encouraged to wear masks. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Monday with Bro. Dale Adkins presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
