Deborah Ann Gibson Cooke, age 68, passed away on Monday, January 9 th at 6:07 pm at the UK Hospice Unit.
Born on October 19, 1954.
Born as the daughter to Bobby and Patsy Criswell Gibson of Owenton, Ky. Debbie worked as a house cleaner for many years and with 1the Owen Co School system OVEC teacher assistant.
Debbie loved being with her family. Her eyes lite up to be with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her little nephews Dallas and Davis. She always looked forward to her weekends with Collin, Dakota, Dallas, and Davis. She loved to clean, shop, and give to others, traveling, dancing, singing, and going out to eat. Christmas was her favorite and loved to decorate. She looked forward to the Women's Retreats that she attended every year. Debbie and Gary loved to fish together with family, Bob, and Jup, and attending family reunions. She was a FaceBook Junkie and played scrabble and Words over the internet with Bobette Olds and the late Glenda Allnutt. She loved to be pampered and looked forward to spa days. She was known best by her friends as a fashionista. Her sister who she called Luly was her best friend and they walked very closely together through this life.
She was preceded in death by her spouse Lenny Marksberry, Father Robert Gibson, her brothers Timmy and Alan Gibson, her granddaughter, Carolann Mitchuson, and her infant son, Jamie Dale Cooke.
She is survived by her mother, Patsy Criswell Gibson; her companion for 10+ years, Gary Newson; her children, Paula Sanders (Clark), April Richardson (Chad), and Ginger Davis (Tater); her grandchildren, Shelby Bruener (James), Andrew Mitchuson, Kristina Ueltschi (JP), Paul Wayne Davis (Taylor), & Daelynn Dunn; her great-grandchildren, Collin and Dakota Wilson, Parker and Mya Davis, & Memphis Cook. Bonus children/grandchildren, Michael, Aaron, and Sean Newsome, Hunter Richardson, Jace, Meagan, Gracie, and Josie Bruener, Brennan Cook, Top, and Rosie Newsome.
Her Surviving siblings are Tony Gibson (Denise), Bill Gibson (Pam), Terry Gibson (Becky), and Melinda Chesnut (Tom). Her Best Friend for over 60 years Pat Trusty, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 10-2 visitation for Family and Friends. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm at the Main Street location of New Funeral home. Officiating will be Bro. Milkweed Wotier. Interment in the Owenton Cemetery. A meal will be provided for all family and friends at the Lighthouse Church Owenton. Contributions can be made to Forks of Dix River Baptist Church K-Motion Kids funds. Nannie loved kids.
