Dayton A. Goodin

Mr. Dayton A. Goodin, age 94, of Monterey, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his residence. Born July 14, 1920, in Bell County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Cordelia Middleton Goodin and the widower of Evelyn Joyce Goodin. He was preceded in death by his son, William Sizemore. Mr. Goodin was a retired forklift operator for NuMaid Margerine Company and seved his country during World War II in the Army. Surviving are his sons, Ronald S. Goodin, Sr. of Murfreesboro, TN, Phillip A. Goodin, Sr. of Monterey and Glenn Turner of Gardnersville; his daughters, Brenda Litchfield and Shirley Sweeder both of Cincinnati, OH. Five grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Wednesday, December 31st from Noon to 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.
