David Allen New

David Allen New, 65, of Monterey set sail on a new voyage June 7 2014 with family at his side. His earthly life began in Frankfort on December 19, 1948 as the oldest son of Jack Juett New and Joann Stephens Wright. He was a graduate of O.C.H.S. and then joined the Navy from 1968 to 1971. He was a member of Old Cedar Baptist Church. His employment included Fishel Company, Kain Ford and most recently retiring from State Government. His true love however was fishing and taking people fishing. No fish was safe from the bluegill to the shark and all in between especially crappie. He loved his family and enjoyed his grandkids. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Barbara Ann True New, his mother, Joann (Ronald) Wright, his sons, Bryan (Leigh) New and Pat (Amy) New and his daughter, Vanessa (Willis) Willhoite, his brother, Billy Ray (Nancy) Ballinger and his seven grandchildren, Gabe, Colton, Jessica, Jordan, Noah, Bradon and Micah, a nephew Colby and his mother-in-law Joyce Hammond. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie and sister-in-law Mary Helen New and cousin Danny New. Visitation is Monday June 9 from 4 to 9 at McDonald & New - Main St. The funeral is Tuesday at 1 PM at the Joyce Hammond residence 12490 HWY 127 South or Old Cedar Baptist, if bad weather. Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery and memorials may be made to Owen County Childrens Fund, Monterey Cemetery or Charity of Choice.
