David Lee Edmondson

David Lee Edmondson, age 80, of Warsaw and formerly of Poplar Grove, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at his residence.

Born February 8, 1940, in Madison, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Gaston and Leenetta Henderson Edmondson and was preceded in death by his infant son James David Edmondson. David was an electrician who retired from Sun Manufacturing. He served his country in the United States Army and was a recipient of an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. He was a 32-degree member of the Glencoe Masonic Lodge and helped to build the Lodge Hall.  David was a former Owen County Magistrate and Water Board Commissioner and enjoyed golfing, watching UK sports, and NASCAR.  Most of all David loved his family and being Papaw to his grandchildren.

He will be missed by his children, David Edmondson of Warsaw, Jeff Edmondson of Verona and Leenetta "Lee" Valerio of Alexandria; his siblings, Jeff Edmondson and Beverly Anderson; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Christian), Chris (Mindy), Katie (Tyler), Ty, Brandon, Maggie (Evan) and Nicholas; and his four great-grandchildren, Sophie, Alex, Sara, and Ronan.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Private services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to Holly Hill Child & Family Solutions, 9599 Summer Hill Road, California, KY 41007.
