David Allen Smith, Jr.

David Allen Smith, Jr., age 41, of Owenton, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at his home.

Born December 12, 1980, in Ohio, he was the son of the late David Allen Smith and Jean Prather who survives. David worked in the construction trade as a concrete finisher. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and playing poker. He was an avid race fan, enjoying dirt track races in Florence and watching his favorite NASCAR driver, Jimmie Johnson. David loved his children tremendously.

Surviving are his mother, Jean Prather; his children, Desiree Smith, David Smith, III, and Destiny Smith; his sisters, Leonia Smith and Beulah Smith; as well as several extended family and friends.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 11 am until 2 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. Bimp McAllister presiding. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.
