Darryl Sidney Smith

Darryl Sidney Smith, age 59, of Owenton, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Care Center in Edgewood, KY.

Born February 12, 1963 in Frankfort, KY, he was the son of the late Clarence S. Smith and Ruth Osborne Smith who survives. Darryl loved driving for his family's trucking company and did so until his health began to decline. He enjoyed fishing and playing basketball and baseball with his sons when they were younger.

He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Judy Thomas Smith; his mother, Ruth Smith; his sons, Derek, Bradley, and Brandon Smith; his step-children, Amanda House and Matthew Hibbard; twenty grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Pam McAlister and Rodney Smith.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.   A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 5 pm at the Main Street location.  Visitation will begin at 4pm. Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier will officiate the services.
