Danny Robert Wright

Danny Robert Wright, age 74, of the Lusby's Mill community of Owen County, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born September 1, 1947, in Owen County, the oldest of seven children of George Robert Wright and Myrtle Smith Burke. He was preceded in death by his brother Billy Wright. Danny was retired from IMI Concrete, where he was a truck driver for over 28 years. He enjoyed hunting and loved being Papa to his grandchildren.  He spent countless hours on the phone talking to friends and relatives and especially loved a good card game.

He will be missed by his wife, whom he married on April 15, 1970, Donna Pickett Wright; his daughters, Tasha (Tim) Courtney and Lisa (Joey) Landers; grandchildren, Haley Griffin, Hagen Hedger, Abigail Courtney, Kayla Sullivan, Joshua Landers, and Sarah Hamrick; great grandchildren, Josie and Greyson Sullivan; and his siblings, Donald Wright, Gary Wright, Lanny Wright, Debbie Osborne, and Dana Colligan.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Everett Hawkins presiding.
