Danny Gor Whobrey

Danny Gor Whobrey, age 74 of Owen County, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 25th, 2026.

Born February 3rd, 1952, he was the son to the late Gordon and Catherine Whobrey.

Danny spent his career at Schlumberger but his main passion was farming. He loved to mow hay, raise tobacco, and grow tomatoes and peppers. He founded Whobrey's Farm on Stewart Lane and loved to fish and bird hunt. He also once tried his hand at raising ostriches. Danny was also known as a flower delivery man, lending a hand anytime he could.

He is survived by his children, Brad (Amanda) Whobrey, and Deanna (Jeremy) Stewart; grandchildren, Brooklyn Brewer, Kendall Whobrey, and Toby Fitzgerald; and his brother, Donny (Patty) Whobrey. Danny is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Whobrey; and his sister, Barbara Orsburn.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Bro. Ben Wilson presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
