Dan Ballard

Daniel Scott “Dan” Ballard, age 46, of Owenton passed away Friday, December 30th from injuries sustained in a auto accident. Born July 28, 1965, in Frankfort, he was a 1984 graduate of Owen County High School. He recently retired from the Transportation Cabinet in Motor Vehicle Licensing. He was also a farmer, a commissioner on the Carroll County Water Board, formerly on the Monterey and Lockport Volunteer Fire Departments and was a member of the Lockport Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his sister Vicki Ann Ballard. Survivors include his wife of sixteen years, Kim Fisher Ballard; his parents, Scott and Marjorie Tracy Ballard; his children Anthony Knight of Owenton, Alicia Banta of Eminence, and Andrea Knight of Lockport; his sister Susan Ballard of Frankfort and six grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday January 2, 2012, from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2pm. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery with Bro. Paul Briscoe and Bro. Wayne Kelly presiding.
