Dallas Ray Hamilton, age 91, of Owenton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in New Castle.
Born on November 14, 1933, to the late William Arthur and Cecil Roberts Hamilton, Dallas lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, and dedication to his loved ones. A longtime resident of Owen County, he was a tobacco and cattle farmer and operated a dairy for a time. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, from time spent with family, hunting and fishing, or collecting arrowheads and old and commemorative bottles. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and played on the church softball team when he was younger. For the past couple of years, he took great joy in receiving daily meals from his friends Sue and Gary at Sue's Lakeview Restaurant.
Dallas is survived by a son, Clay (Sherry) Hamilton; grandchildren, Evan (Jenni) Hamilton, Brice (Vicky) Hamilton, Kalib Hamilton, and Raven (Joseph) Hamilton-Kent; his great-grandchildren, Lillian Hamilton, Alyeska Hamilton, Asher Hamilton, Michael Kent, and Shayla Kent. He is preceded in death by his wife, who he married in 1953, Aldean Spaulding Hamilton; his daughter, Sonya Faith Hamilton; his infant son, Kirby Hamilton; and his siblings, Eugene Hamilton, William Arthur Hamilton, Jr., Robin Hamilton, and Lue Ree Hamilton Ball.
New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, January 3, 2025, from Noon until 2 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to New Castle Nursing Home or Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
