Connie Gibson Lopez

Constance "Connie" Renee Gibson Lopez, age 59, of Owenton, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 4, 1965, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of Jacquelyn Leifrig Gibson, who survives her, and the late Marvin Douglas Gibson.

Outside of her work as a medical claims specialist, she found joy in shopping and spending time outdoors. Connie's life was a testament to selflessness and love. She was known for putting others first and finding happiness in making those around her smile. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially in her role as Grandma. Whether exploring the mountains of Tennessee or relaxing on the sunny beaches of Florida, Connie treasured the moments spent with her loved ones.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her husband Salvador Lopez; her sons, John (Leah Wilhoite) Smith and Jason (Chelsea Tisdale) Smith; her grandson, Justin David Smith and granddaughter, Carman Meadows; her mother, Jacquelyn Gibson; her siblings, Joe Gibson, Daniel Gibson, Cathy Cobb, and Susan Colligan; her step-children, Mariano and Maria Bolanos; her mother-in-law, Gloria Albares; and her beloved dogs, Mac and Simon, as well as a host of extended family and friends.   Connie was preceded in death by her infant son Justin Lee Smith and her father, Marvin Douglas Gibson.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  A memorial gathering will be held at the Main Street location on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 4 - 6 pm.  A celebration of Connie's life will follow at 6 pm with Bro. Craig Howard presiding.
