Christine Virginia Burton

Christine Virginia Gordy Burton, age 83, of Owenton, passed away Sunday April 29th. Born December 24, 1928, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Stella Lusby Gordy. She was the widow of Henry Burton. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Zeda Hayes, Betty Lloyd, Bertie Giles and Lula Mae Blackburn. Christine was a homemaker and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. Surviving are her brother, Frank Gordy of Sparta; her sisters, Peggy Perkins of Owenton. Lucille Covey of Sparta, Billie Anne Cannon of Willisburg and Bonnie Sullivan of Owenton. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, May 3rd from 11am to 1pm. Funeral servicces will follow at 1pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery in West Liberty, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Owenton Manor - Activities Fund.
