Charlotte Marie Burke

Charlotte Marie Burke, 52, of Owenton, died Saturday, January 24, 2009. Born June 8, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Sim Lee and Lulia Wilhoite Smith and was preceded in death by her son Bryan Spurr and her husband Mike Burke. Charlotte was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was the Owenton city secretary and an avid supporter of the KY Baptist Homes for Children. Charlotte is survived by five brothers, S.J., Larry, Harold, David and Ray Smith all of Gratz; six sisters, Judy Smith, Linda new, Mary Bramblett, May Walker all of Owenton, Brenda Miller of Nicholasville and Glenna Long of Indiana; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive. Honorary bearers will be David Raisor, Earl Wayne New, Gordon Miller, David Ison and Mike Walker. Pall bearers will be Tim Walker, Clay Brown, Dennis Howard, Russ Loaring, Cole Greene, Charles Long and Davin Plunkett. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Thursday, January 29th, from 10am -2 pm. Funeral Services will follow at 2pm. with Bro. Frank McGee and Bro. Carl Read officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Minish Cemetery in Gratz. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.
