Charles Raymond Richerson

Charles Raymond “Charlie” Richerson, age 84 of Owenton passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010. Born April 12, 1926, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Lula May Thomas Richerson and was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Glore Richerson; son, John Phillip Richerson; daughter, Janice Ann Rose; brother Nolan “Bud” Richerson; and sisters, Delsie Hubert, Irene Robinson and Lottie Wilburn. Mr. Richerson was a retired employee of Lovett Meat Company, a member of the Beaver Lick Baptist Church and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Wayne Richerson of Walton, Randy Lane Richerson of Independence, Charles Anthony “Chuck” Richerson of Walton; daughters, Nancy Louise Stephens of Owenton, Sandra Rae Cain of Florence, Rebecca Sue Herbert of New Richmond, OH; sisters, Ann Benencke of Warsaw and Gracie Hankinson of Independence; 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Beaver Lick Baptist Church on Tuesday night from 3-6pm. Funeral services will follow at 6pm with Bro. Monte McElfresh presiding. Graveside services will begin at 10am at the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
