Charles Bradford Lilly, age 82 and a resident of Owenton, passed away Tuesday at his home. Born July 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Jesse and Betty Ann Duvall Lilly. Charles was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Glenn Kingkade Lilly and his foster parents, Porter and Bessie Duvall Keith. Charles served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was a retired employee of the Kentucky Highway Department and also worked as a carpenter and farmer. He was a member of the Beechgrove Baptist Church. Charles is survived by three sons: Marty Lilly (wife Tina), Jeff Lilly (wife Bobbie Jean) and David Lilly; one daughter: Deborah Glenn Lilly; eleven grandchildren: Jarrod, Shannon, Kara, Gabe, Brad, Danielle, Amanda, Jennifer, Daniel, Erik and Ben and three great grandchildren: Blaine, Alexander and Daniel Wayne. Visitation will be held Friday from 4-8pm at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 2pm with Rev. David Wotier and Bro. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Owenton & Owen County Volunteer Fire Department or The Hospice of the Bluegrass.
