Clarence Bradford “C.B.” Marston, age 93, of Owenton passed away Monday, October 15, 2012, at his residence. Born November 13, 1918, in the Monterey community of Owen County, he was the son of the late Duward and Eloise Marston. C.B. was a tobacco farmer and was associated with the Loose Leaf Tobacco Warehouse for many years , an avid gardener and loved fishing. He was a member of the Owen County Sportsman’s Club, a devout University of Kentucky fan and a member of the Greenup Fork Baptist Church. CB also served his country in the Army during WWII. He had a very colorful military career and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Thelma Roland Marston; his sons, Gene Harris (Beverly) Mason of Owenton and Larry (Linda) Mason of LaGrange; his sister, Ward Smith of Greenup; nephew, John (Debbie) Smith; grandchildren, Suzanne, Shannon (Tim), Mike (Laura), Leigh (Bryan) and Brittanie and eight great-grandchildren, Courtney (Wes), Devon, Brandon, Colton, Tyler, Chamberlin, Caitlynn and Bradon; great nephew, Josh (Lindsay) Smith, great niece Katie Smith and great-great nephews and niece, Hatcher, Hayes and Salem. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Thursday, October 18th from 11am until the time of the service at 3pm. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery with Rev. Greg Guy presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Owenton.
