Cathy O'Banion Phillips

Catherine Louise O'Banion Phillips, 72, passed away March 31, 2023 in Frankfort, KY. She was born in Owen County the daughter of the late Bill and Vivian Ireland O'Banion. She graduated from Owen County High School and was a beautician for 33 years. She was a member of the Owenton Methodist Church where she was the church pianist for many years and also was song leader, cantata director, choir director and helped with VBS. She sang specials at church and sang with the group Sweet Adelines. She loved camping, knitting and baking. She knitted scarves for kids, blankets for new babies at church and hats for residents at the manor. She is survived by her husband Ray whom she married on August 14, 1969. She considered Christy and Rusty Keith as her daughter and son-in-law. The funeral will be held on Tuesday April 4 at 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 10:00AM at the Main Street location of New Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Owenton Methodist Church or St. Judes. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown.
