Carolene Wright

December 13, 1949 — June 7, 2018

Carolene Wright, 68, passed away Thursday night at her home in Owenton. She was born in Owen County the daughter of the late Harold Scott and Eunice Mae Howard Gaines. She was a former employee of Union Underwear and then worked at the Owenton Manor for 20 years as a Certified Registered Nurses Aide. She loved puzzles, bingo, what-nots, UK Basketball and most of all her kids and grandkids. She always took her grandkids to the county fair every night. Surviving are her husband Donald Wright, her children Dawn (Dane) Wiley and Brandon (Rebecca) Wright, two brothers, Randall and Danny Ray Gaines and her sister Bonita (Tim) House. Three grandchildren, Felicity Ann and Kiley Jo Wright and Laura Ann Wiley also survive.
The funeral will be on Saturday June 9 at 2PM at McDonald & New Funeral Home - Main St. Visitation begins at 11AM Saturday. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Squiresville Baptist or Owen County Friends of Animals.
