Carol Perkins

Carol Perkins, 71, of Georgetown and formerly of Owenton passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at her residence.  Born July 9, 1946, in Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Gladys Hitesman Burrows and the widow of Danny Perkins.  She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Matthew Miller.  Carol was retired from Owen Electric where she retired after more than 30 years as the payroll and plant accountant.  She, along with her husband, owned and operated Danny's Gas Station for many years.  She was a member of the Minorsville Christian Church.  Carol enjoyed cross stitching, loved spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and shopping with her sister, Kak.She is survived by her children, Michael Perkins and Chad (Leslie) Perkins; her grandchildren, Isaiah and Brooklynn; siblings, Kathy (Ronnie) Towles, Evelyn (Butch) Miller, Duane (Carrie Ann) Burrows and Douglas (Lee)Burrows.  Nine nieces and nephews also survive.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, February 5, 2018, from 5 - 8 pm.  Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding.  Memorial contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice (formerly Hospice of the Bluegrass).
