Carol Collins Hudnall

Carol Lynn Collins Hudnall, age 72, of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at her home. Born December 5, 1949, in Dardanell, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Silva and Rudy Silva who survives. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Danny “Spanky” Hudnall, Jr. and her brother, Rudy Silva, Jr. She was the co-owner of Hudnall’s Garage & Wrecker and Hudnall’s Auto Sales for over 25 years. She owned and operated Carol’s Discount Furniture from 1975 - 1990 and also offered art classes there. She was a very accomplished artist who worked in many mediums, including ceramics, jewelry, and most notably oil paints. Carol loved animals without discrimination, throughout the years she had many cats and dogs, fed the opossums, and even had a pet monkey named Jackie. She is survived by the love of her life, Danny Hudnall. She and Danny met in Chicago as teenagers, where they lived near each other. They married on Carol’s 18th birthday, December 5, 1967 and are just shy of their 55th wedding anniversary. She will be missed by her son, Paul (Melissa) Hudnall; her adopted sons, William “Mousie” Gibson, and Orville “Speedy” Gibson; her grandchildren, Michael “Mickey” Hudnall, Cory Hudnall, Kayleigh & Levi Hudnall, Anna, Hunter, Skylar, Sophia, and Rachael Hudnall.; her siblings, Carl Steve Collins, Jeff Silva, Mark Silva, Linda Rather, Tony Silva, John Silva, and Cindy Diede; and her beloved dogs, Odiel, Sophie, & Snickerdoodle. New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 2 - 6 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday at the funeral home with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Carol will be laid to rest near her son, Spanky, in the Owenton Cemetery. Contributions in Carol’s memory are suggested to Owen County Friends of Animals.
