Carlene Sue Dunavent

Mrs. Carlene Sue Dunavent, age 75, of Owenton passed away, Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Owenton Center. Born November 25, 1939 in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Bedford and Opal Wilson Stewart. She was the widow of Russell Lee Dunavent, who she married on August 23, 1958. Carlene was retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Purchasing Agent in the Department of Finance. Prior to that worked for Owen County RECC. She was a member of the Owenton First Christian Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and sang in the choir. Additionally she sang with Journey's End, enjoyed painting and was a member of the Owen County Historical Society. Surviving are her son, Greg (Deedi) Dunavent and her grandson, Adam Dunavent. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Owenton First Christian Church, on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 10am until 1pm. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Bro. Greg Guy officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Owenton First Christian Church.
