Carla Pennington

Carla Pennington, age 52 and a resident of Owenton passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Tacoma, Washington where she was visiting her sister for the holidays. Born October of 1961, she was the oldest daughter of the late Carol S. Pennington and Wayne E. Pennington. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Karen Ray Pennington. Carla was a vibrant young dedicated woman who was loyal to her family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Owenton. She was a faithful servant in many ministries: Sunday School, Hospitality Committee, The Mission House and Church Choir which was most dear to her heart. Carla spread sunshine where ever she went because she had a smile for everyone. Carla is survived by her sister, Barbara S. Watson, Rev. Robert (Bobby) L. Watson, Jr (Brother-in-law); her niece Laura S. Watson, her nephew, Psalms E. Watson, and her nephew by marriage, Robert L. (wife Sarah) Watson, III; two great nieces, Azariah and Drew and a great nephew on the way who will be named Robert Lee Wason, IV. Plus cousins, other extended family and friends living near and far which are numerous to list. Visitation will be held Friday Dec. 6, from 4 to 9pm at Owenton First Baptist Church with funeral services beginning 11am Saturday, December 7th also at the Church. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery.
