Carey Vannarsdall

Mr. William "Carey" Vannarsdall, age 89, of Jonesville passed away, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the New Horizons Medical Center. Born April 6, 1924, in Jonesville, he was the son of the late William and Susie Perry Vannarsdall. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Agnes Noel, Olan, J.C., Frank and Joe Vannarsdall. Carey was a devout member of the Concord Baptist Church where he served in the capacity of Sunday School teacher, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendant, and Moderator. Carey was also a farmer and played Santa Claus for many years for different organizations. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eva "Louise" Caldwell Vannarsdall; his sons, Lloyd (Lana) Vannarsdall of Owenton, Daryl (Debbie) Vannarsdall of Dry Ridge and Wendell Vannarsdall of Jonesville; his brother, Amos Vannarsdall of Georgetown; his sister, Bea Perkins of Owenton; four grandchildren, Lyndsay, Tameca, Colt and Michael and four great grandchildren, Laila, Trezdon, Bentley and Zayden. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, May 9, from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday at the Concord Baptist Church, Gold's Valley Road at 2pm. Burial will be in the Jonesville Cemetery with Bro. Eddie Reynolds presiding.
