Mr. C. W. Yancey, age 78 and a resident of the Poplar Grove Community in Owen County, passed away Thursday, January 3rd, at his home. Born February 10, 1934, he was the son of the late Herschel and Christine Hayden Yancey. C.W. was a farmer and member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church. He was also served on the Owen County Conservation Board and Served his Country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. Survivors include his wife, Grace Masters Yancey; two daughters: Anne Yancey Krampe (husband Brian) of Louisville and Glenna Yancey Mushaben (husband Tom) of Cincinnati; one brother: Lloyd Yancey (wife Shelby) of Poplar Grove; two grand daughters: Leigh Krampe Hoopes (husband Ian) of Crescent Springs and Erin Krampe of Auburn Alabama; one niece: Lynda Jackson of Covington and one nephew: Thomas Yancey of New Castle; and a very special cousin; Glen True of Poplar Grove. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Sunday January 6th, from 2-6pm. Funeral services will begin Monday, January 7th, at 11 am with Bro. Tom Hall officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass-Frankfort Ky or the Poplar Grove Cemetery Fund.
