Bro. Carl Thomas Read

Bro. Carl Thomas Read, 68, of Gratz, passed away Tuesday, November 24th, at the Owenton Manor. Born January 26, 1941 in Campbellsville, he was the son of the late Claude and Millie Gilpin Read and was preceded in death by three brothers Archie, Kenneth and Walter. Bro. Carl was the minister at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for several years. He was also the former pastor of Gratz Baptist Church, a former member of the Masonic Lodge Hiram #4, a Kentucky Colonel and was a member of Promise Keepers. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cindy Read; his children Tim, Carla and Christie and three grandchildren, Katherine, Stephen and Thomas. Family will receive friends at the Main Street funeral home, on Friday, November 27th from 4-7pm. Funeral services will follow at 7pm with Bro. Paul Briscoe and Bro. Wade Hughes officiating. Visitation will also be held at Parrot & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville on Saturday from 11am to 1pm. A graveside service will follow at 1pm with Bro. Ken Forman officiating.
