Brenda Joyce Wooten

Brenda Joyce Wooten, age 79, of Owenton, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Owenton Healthcare.

Born September 29, 1943, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late T.W. and Nellie Carter Burford. She was preceded in death by her husband Bert Wooten; her daughter, Susie Henderson; and her siblings, J.W. Burford, Geraldine Beverly, Frank Smoot, and Autry Burford. She was a member of the Methodist faith and a homemaker. She spent her free time reading her bible, working crossword puzzles, and watching Gunsmoke and Reflections.  She especially enjoyed holidays with family and being "Nannie" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by her sons, Allen (Lisa) Wooten, Jackie (Karla) Wooten, and Steve (Sheila) Wooten;  ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from Noon - 2 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to either funeral expenses or the Wounded Warrior Project.
