Brenda J. Vaughn

Brenda J. Vaughn, age 76, of Florence, KY, and formerly of Corinth, KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Born on September 9, 1948, in Scott County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Carl Eugene Rogers and Lucille Lucas Rogers.

A graduate of Grant County High School, Brenda was a longtime member of Corinth Christian Church. She dedicated several years of her life working at Freeway Restaurant, where she built lasting friendships. Later, she worked as an administrative assistant for Lingo Manufacturing and then Interstate Equipment. In her retirement, she worked for Sisterly Touch Catering.

Brenda had a passion for reading, especially the Alex Cross series by James Patterson, and was known for her intricate and beautiful counted cross-stitch creations. Many family and friends were recipients of personalized framed cross-stitch work or lovely yo-yo quilts.  A devoted University of Kentucky basketball fan, she rarely missed watching a game, cheering on the Wildcats with unwavering enthusiasm.

Perhaps her favorite hobby was being “Mimi” to Kyle and “BB” to her nieces and nephews.  She loved family gatherings and will be fondly remembered for her delicious Christmas candy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Shannon, and her brother, Coleman Rogers. Brenda leaves behind her cherished grandson, Kyle Adams, and his wife, Karianne Martin; her siblings, Carl (Cathy) Rogers of Live Oak, FL, and Cindy (Larry) Pelkey of Corinth, KY; her niece, Jennifer Duncan, and nephews, Daniel Rogers and Chuck Rogers; great nieces and nephews, Kemper, Alyssa, Grant, Cole, Taylor, Mahlin, and Scarlett; great-great nephews, June, Cooper and Silas; as well as her faithful feline companion, Nyla. A host of extended family and dear friends also survive.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends, at the Main Street location, for visitation on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 11 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm. Her nephew, Daniel Rogers will officiate. Brenda will be laid to rest in the Owenton Cemetery beside her daughter,  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
