Bonnie Carol Fitzgerald

Bonnie Carol Fitzgerald age 80, of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Born July 26, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Porter and Christine Kinman Osborne. She was the widow of Melvin Fitzgerald whom she married June 22, 1963. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Bobby Osborne, Beverly Stewart, Dennis Osborne, grandson Matthew Ray Duvall, and son-in-law Jim Berry.

Bonnie worked for the Owen County School System as a bus driver from 1977-2004, and returned from 2005-2018 as a substitute driver. She also worked in the cafeteria from 1983-2004. She was a member of the Greenup Fork Baptist Church. Bonnie was cherished by her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren who affectionately called her Mawmaw Bonnie and Booloo.

She is survived by her children Kim (Danny) Duvall, Shawna (Alfred) Arrowood, Vickie Fitzgerald, Chris Fitzgerald (Barbara Grace), Mike  (LaShonda) Fitzgerald, Johnny (Meg) Fitzgerald. Her grandchildren Jessica Berry (Jack Miller), Nathan Duvall, Tyler (Kenzie) Fitzgerald, Makenzie (Mike) Stafford, Sonny Berry, Austin (Kaylee) Fitzgerald, Ethan Fitzgerald, Levi and Leah Kate Fitzgerald. Her great grandchildren James, Jacob, Caleb, and Logan Duvall, Kason Goodlett, Myles and Krew Fitzgerald, Jackson Stafford, Raeney Carol Miller, and Hadley Fitzgerald, and her faithful dog Pipa. She will also be missed by her siblings Donna Scott, Larry (Darlene) Osborne, Gary Osborne (Robin Landrum), nieces, nephews, and extended family.

New Funeral Homes are in are charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 6th at 11:00 am with burial in the Owenton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Owen County Children's Fund or Greenup Fork Baptist Church.
