Bobby Smith

Robert Eugene 'Bobby', age 72, of Owen County, passed away at his home, Monday, May 31, 2021.

He was born on June 24, 1948 in Owenton to the late William Cecil Smith and Dorothy Marie Stewart. Bobby was a lifelong farmer, where he spent many of his days. He had a love for drinking some coffee and chatting with his family and friends. Most importantly he was loving papaw to his grandkids. Bobby was a US Army Veteran.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Johannah Smith; his children, Shawn 'Gus' (Mary Helen) Smith, Chad Smith, William Glenn Plunkett; his siblings, Gary Smith, Marilyn Howell, Rodney (Bamba) Smith; his grandchildren, Tanner (Emily) Smith, Ty (Lindsay) Smith, Caroline Smith, Michael Smith; his great granddaughter, Maisyn Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends and family at the Seminary Street location on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 4 PM to 8 PM. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11 AM at the Veterans Cemeteries North in Williamstown, KY, with Bro. Gene Hill presiding. Please meet at the cemetery gates a few minutes prior to the service. Masks are required for those who have not been vaccinated, and social distancing is encouraged. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choosing.
