Bobby Gene Estes

Mr. Bobby Gene Estes age 82 of Owenton. Mr. Estes passed away Tuesday, December 30th at the Taylor Manor Nursing Home. Born March 23, 1932, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Everett and Anna Belle Garnett Estes and the widower of Rosemary Anderson Estes. His brother, Norman Lee Estes also preceded in him in death. Along with his wife, Mr. Estes owned and operated Owenton Cleaners for many years. He was a member of First Christian Church. Surviving are his daughters, Brenda (Jerry) Handy of Owenton, Linda (Wayne) Byrd of Harrodsburg, Ann (Jim) Daniel of Frankfort and Norma (Maurice Ray) Smither of Lexington. Nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Friday January 2, 2015 from 11am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
