Bob Alvin Harris

Robert 'Bob' Alvin Harris, age 88, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at his home.

Born October 19, 1932, in Burgin, KY, he was the late son of Manilus 'Jody' and Laura Farris Harris. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Messer Harris; and his brother Bill Harris. He served his country in The United States Marine Corps. He owned Quality Painters in Cincinnati, Ohio and retired from General Electric as a Machine Operator. He was an avid fisherman, and for a period of time lived on Cherokee Lake in Tennessee. He was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church. His friendship and hosting of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners will be missed by family and friends. Bob enjoyed playing pool with his friends and hosting and cooking fish frys.

Bob is survived by his children, Laura (Dave) Klare, and Robert 'Bob' (Melissa Rega) Harris Jr.; his siblings, Juanita Knutson, Dorothy (Johnny) Myers, Lawrence (Willena) Harris; and his grandchildren, Rylie Hill, and Ashton Klare as well as a host of family and friends.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Macedonia Baptist Church for a pass through visitation on Friday, January 29, 2021 from Noon till 2PM. Funeral services will follow at 2PM with Bro. Gene Hill presiding. Burial will be in the Macedonia Baptist Cemetery and memorial contributions made to Macedonia Baptist Church. Masks and social distancing are required.
