Blanche Cook, age 91, of Owenton, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the Owenton Center.
Born July 9, 1929, In Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel Nix Wainscott and the widow of Floyd Cook. She was also preceded in death by her son Floyd Cook; siblings Walter and Howard Wainscott, Eunica Steger, Verdella Kinman, and Geneva Howell. Blanche was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, cleaned homes as well as had a hand in farming. Blanche will be remembered as a kind, caring, giving lady.
Blanche will be missed by her children Irene (Doug) Perkins and David Cook; her grandchildren, Shayne Cook, Kristal New, Clinton Cook, Kendra Quire, and Amanda Eades; her great-grandchildren, Baileigh, Laine, Brianna, Hagen, Campbell, Kade, Millie, Kendall, and Cooper as well as her great-great-grandson Holden.
McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Sunday, April 11, 2021, from 1 - 4 pm for a pass-thru visitation. Masks and social distancing are required. Funeral service will follow at 4 pm. Burial will be Monday, April 12, 2021, at the Owenton Cemetery at 3 pm. Meet at the funeral home at 2:45 pm to go in procession to the cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Cedar Hill Baptist Church. Livestream available here .
