Billy Gene Yancey

Billy Gene Yancey, age 68, of the Pleasant Home community, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Born March 16, 1955, in Owenton, he was the son of the late Porter and Margaret Perkins Yancey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Daryl Eversole.  Billy was the owner and operator of B&C Trucking and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting, especially yearly Thanksgiving trips to Nebraska for pheasant hunting. He was a member of the Sportsman Club and could often be found working on his dump truck or riding his ranger to Severn Creek. One of Billy's favorite pastimes was watching UK Basketball with all of his family.

Billy will be missed by his wife of 37 years, Charlotte Moore Yancey; his children, Staci (Johnnie) Burke and Wesley Yancey; his sister, Janet (Buddy) Wilhoite; his five grandchildren, Kelsey (Austin) Reeder, Blake (Brianna Lancaster) Burke, Madison Yancey, Haleigh Yancey, and Eli Burke; one great grandson, Brody Reeder; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends and extended family.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4 - 8 pm at the Main Street location. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 2 pm with Bro. Dale Adkins, Bro. Dale Griggs, and Bro. Paul Briscoe presiding. Billy will be laid to rest beside his parents and brother, in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to either Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice or Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
