Billy Dwayne Wilson

Billy Dwayne Wilson, age 83, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.

Born December 1, 1940, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Norvin and Lela Herald Wilson.  He was the widower of Dixiana Duvall Wilson whom he married in 1971. Billy retired from Glenwood Hall Golf Club, now Perry Park Golf Resort, after 36 years of service as the Golf Course Superintendent. He was a member of Dallasburg Baptist Church and an accomplished golfer. Billy will be remembered as a dedicated family man, an incredible father, a loving brother, and his biggest accomplishment as Pop-pop to his two grandchildren.

He will be missed by his son, Brian Scott (Brenda) Wilson, of Tuckasege, NC; his grandchildren, Aiden and Addison Wilson; and his sisters, Brenda Powell and Imogene Acree.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Don Wilson and Norma Sue Perkins.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Michael David presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the charity of one's choice.
