Billy Nash Stamper

Billy Nash Stamper, age 88, of Owenton passed away at Frankfort Regional Medical Center on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Born May 31, 1934 in Owen County, he was the son of the late Richard Edison Stamper and Lucy Jane Hundley. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Lee Tindle, son Gary Michael Stamper, siblings Mary Lou Cull, Joe Stamper and Dixie Bradford.

Billy was a truck driver for most of his life. While driving he picked up his love of the CB Radio. He loved the connection he made with other truckers and enjoyed talking with people after retiring from trucking. Billy was elected to serve as the Mayor of Gratz and served the community in this capacity for several years. Billy also worked for the Owen County Transfer Station. He was a member of Owen Lodge #128 Free & Accepted Masons.

Billy will be missed by his son Billy Stamper, Jr and daughter Kathy Stamper; grandchildren Misti Doss, Heather Baxter, Christoper Doss; great grandchildren Nathan Goodrich, Destiny Goodrich, Brooklyn Doss, Layne Baxter, Nicholas Doss, Leigha Baxter and Cory Doss and one great great grandson Noah Goodrich.  Also surviving is his brother Edison Stamper.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 3 pm until 5 pm. Funeral services will follow at 5 pm with Bro. Dale Adkins officiating.
