In Loving Memory of Billy Clay Holiday, Jr.
Sunrise January 17, 1984
Sunset May 28, 2025
Billy, often called by Bill or his middle name Clay, passed away on May 28, 2025, after a life lived with courage, grace, and a gentle spirit. Born in 1984, Billy was a beloved son, grandson, nephew, and friend. Diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome at an early age, Billy faced challenges that he met with strength and quiet resilience.
He was lovingly raised by his devoted father, Billy Clay Holiday Sr., loving grandparents, Alma and Elmer Holiday, and loving aunt Sandra Holiday, who nurtured his joy and ensured he was surrounded by constant love and support. Watching sports on TV was a favorite pastime for Billy. He especially enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals play with his dad and grandad.
Billy loved rides in the car with Aunt Sandra to get snacks. When Sandra moved to Cincinnati and came home for visits, his dad knew not to tell him in advance that Sandra was coming because he would ask over and over again for Sandra until she arrived. Billy attended Owen County School.
In recent years, Billy was cared for by his dedicated caregivers, GerI Marshall, and her son, Lorenzo. They became his extended Louisville family. Their kindness, patience, and love brought Billy comfort and companionship and were a true blessing. During his time in Louisville, he volunteered with Meals On Wheels, participated in a walking group, and absolutely loved his outings to Popeyes Chicken.
Billy will be remembered for his warm smile, the way he lit up at familiar voices, and the gentle way he connected with those he loved.
Billy is survived by his loving father, Billy Clay Holiday Sr. (Francis) of Owenton; three Aunts, Sandra Holiday of Cincinnati, Peggy Mallory (Tim) of Cincinnati, Margaret Holiday-Crews (Reggie) of Owings Mills, Maryland, and a host of cousins and friends.
New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Homegoing Celebrations will be held at Second Baptist Church, Owenton, on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 1 pm. Visitation will begin at 11 am. Burial will be in New Liberty Second Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Christopher Leon Hagan will officiate.
