Billy Ray Ballinger

Billy Ray Ballinger, 66, passed away Friday August 19, 2022 at his home. He was born on May 29, 1956 the son of the late Laurel "Curly" Ballinger and Joann Stephens Wright. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, David and Ronnie New. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed his trips to Colorado and Alabama. He was always looking for a bargain and loved flea markets and especially the 127 sale. He was kind hearted and never met a stranger. During deer season you could find him at the "Shack" telling stories, cooking and eating with all his Eastern Kentucky buddies. He was also known for being a drivers license examiner for the Kentucky State Police. He was enrolled in the first Drivers License training school in Kentucky. He will be missed by his wife, Nancy Ballinger, his children, Derrick (Amber) Ballinger, Steven (Elizabeth) Heightchew and Michelle Heightchew, his step sister, Lori Ballinger and his grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob Heightchew, Hannah Heightchew and Liam Ballinger. A graveside service will be held at the Monterey Cemetery on September 10, 2022 at 11 AM.
