Billie Ruth Bourne, age 96, passed away on October 4, 2025, at Baptist Health Lexington. Born on August 7, 1929, she was a cherished member of her family, leaving behind a legacy defined by love, devotion, and caring for those around her.
Billie was a proud member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where her faith shone brightly throughout her life. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life; whether it was watching old westerns, engaging with Find-a-Word puzzles, or enjoying family dinners, her interests brought warmth and joy to those fortunate enough to share in them.
Family was everything to Billie. She lived in Owen County until 1987, when she moved to Grant County to assist in caring for her great-great-nephew, Christopher, who was the joy of her life. Billie's commitment to her family was unwavering. For fifteen years, she dedicated herself to caring for her niece, June Turner. She will be deeply missed by her great-niece, Cassie Marksberry of Lexington, and great-nephew, Nathan Marksberry of West Liberty.
Billie was preceded in death by her loving parents, William H. "Bill" Bourne and Maggie Lee Crabtree Bourne, her sister Fannie Frazier, her niece Norma "Missy" Marksberry, and her great-great-nephew, Christopher Atha.
