Bill Wagers

Anthony "Bill" Wagers, age 69, of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at his home.

Born September 8, 1954, in London, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Burchell and Elizabeth Taylor Wagers.  He was preceded in death by his sisters, "Tag" King, Jackie Murphy, Ann Combs, Margaret Sue Gaines, and his great-granddaughter Emersyn. Bill was a carpenter who enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing, hunting, and just being outdoors. For a time, he worked as a lineman for Owen Electric as well as being a repo man and farm hand.  He loved playing the guitar around a bonfire and being a grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He will be missed by his wife, Doris Perkins Wagers; his daughters, Loretta Kay (Paul) Crawford and Jeniffer Faye (Greg) Estes; grandchildren, Jonathan Crawford, Heather Smith, Adam Estes, and Cagan Depew; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Carter, Luke, Rylee, Levi, Lukha, Bentley, Addalyn, Hayden and Colter; siblings, David Wagers, Toni Wagers, and Wanda Wagers.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Chad Rose presiding.
