Bill Stewart

Gene Gabriel “Bill” Stewart passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at his home.  Born January 5, 1942, to the late Lonnie & Ruby (Wilson) Stewart.  Bill was a lifelong farmer.  In his early years, he enjoyed tractor pulling and bird hunting.  Bill was a tobacco farmer and raised Limousin cattle and custom cut and rolled hay for many years. Later in life he married Beverly Osborne.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife Beverly (Osborne) Stewart; brothers Dallas “Jack” Stewart, Marvin “Bud” Stewart, Olen ‘Dick” Stewart, a sister Geneva Ann Stewart, niece Debbie Whobrey and nephew Woodford “Woody” Stewart.

Survived by his children, Rhonda (Johnny) Denny, Renaee (Mitchell) Gaines, grandchildren Brittney (Chris) Smoot, Cheyene  Gaines and Blake Gaines, and two great-grandchildren, John Paul Smoot and Miley Grace Buchanan.  Nephews Marvin Gerald Stewart, Glen Stewart, Greg Toole, Lonnie Jay Stewart, niece Ruby Ann Stewart, and Cousin Louie Jump. Bill left behind his Jack Russell Sam who was his devoted companion.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 5 - 8 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding.  Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Owen County Friends of Animals or Owen County Children’s Fund
