Beuna Kinmon, 88, of Owenton, died Thursday December 4, 2008 at St. Luke Hospital, East in Ft. Thomas. Born August 7, 1920, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late James and Bessie Stafford O’Banion and was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Hoot” Kinmon and her brother, Woodrow S. O’Banion. Beuna was retired from Georgetown Cable Products and was a member of the Lusby’s Mill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school and Bible School teacher for many years. She was active in 4-H as a longtime leader of the Sewing Club as well as the Homemakers Club. She was very dedicated to her Homemakers club having never missed a meeting until it disbanded and went on the win the Homemaker of the Year Award in the mid 1950’s She is survived by her two sons, Ronald S. Wainscott of Frankfort and Hubert Glenn Kinmon of Verona; her daughter Charlene Nation of Shelbyville; her sister James Gladys Adkins of Owenton; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location, Sunday December 7th , from 3 until 7pm. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday, with Bro. Jesse Bourne officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Lusby’s Mill Baptist Church, Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Alzheimer’s Association.
