Betty Mae Wilhoite

Betty Mae Wilhoite, age 71, of Owenton, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010, at the Owenton Manor. Born February 25, 1939, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Mae Estes Gaines and the widow of William David “Willis” Wilhoite. Her brother Carl Gaines also preceded her in death. Mrs. Wilhoite was a 30 year employee of Farm Bureau and a member of Cedar Hill where she played the organ. She is survived by her daughters, Valerie McEntire of Sparta and Vickie Steger of Nicholasville.; her son, David Wilhoite of Frankfort; her brothers, Bobby, Donald and William Gaines all of Owenton; five grandchildren, Aaron, John Travis, Mary Beth, Dylan and Mackenzie and one great grandchild, Waylon. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Wednesday, December 1st from 4-7pm. Funeral services will follow at 7pm with Bro. Jesse Bourne officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery on Thursday at 11am.
