Betty Jane Skirvin

Betty Jane Skirvin, age 84, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Gallatin Nursing and Healthcare.

Born April 26, 1939, in Owenton, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Hattie Hudson Dawson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Skirvin, son-in-law, Mike Jansen, grandson Tony, and her brother, James Dawson.  Betty was an exceptional cook who worked as a caterer until her retirement from Davis Catering.  Her family will remember her vegetable soup and sweet tea fondly. In her later years, she enjoyed passing the time watching television, especially Animal Planet and Dr. Pol.

She will be missed by her children, Rick (Kris) Skirvin, Pamela Jansen, Theresa Skirvin, Kenneth Cain, and Kevin (Candy) Cain; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Frances Roland.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the Jonesville Cemetery with Bro. Rex Gibson presiding.
