Betty Lou Kemper, 80, of Owenton, departed this life after a long illness on November 15th , 2009. Born February 4, 1929 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Howard “Whitey” and Mary C. McDonald. Ms. Kemper attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She retired from state government where she worked as one of the first female bank examiners. She also worked at General Butler State Park and was actively involved in her family’s businesses in Owenton. She is survived by her sister, Mary Roberts of Henry County; three children, Donna (Ronnie) Dunavent and Bobby (Jean Allen) Kemper o Owenton, Sandy (Mark) Toole of Burlington; grandchildren, Jill Dunavent, Janet Weimer, Jon and Brandon Kemper, Lauren, Heather and Tyler Toole; and great grandchildren, Matthew and Katie Weimer, Drew and Carman Kemper and Brady and Nathan Kemper. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, November 17th from 4-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Wednesday with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to either Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
