Betty J "Dino" DeWitt, born on March 3, 1966, in Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away on March 15, 2026.

Betty spent many years working at Owen County Hospital in housekeeping, where she contributed to a clean and welcoming environment for patients and staff alike. Later, she retired from Dorman after 22 years as a Quality Control Inspector, demonstrating her commitment and attention to detail throughout her career.

Those who knew Betty remember her love for spending time with her family. She enjoyed growing flowers, which brought beauty and joy to her home. One of her greatest joys was traveling, especially to the beach with her fiancé, Mark Steckmyer. 

Betty is survived by her fiancé, Mark Steckmyer; her sisters, Ruby (Charles) Barnes and Bonnie (David) Robertson; her brother, Lester (Starr) DeWitt; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter DeWitt; her mother, Jessie Lucretia Cox DeWitt; her nephew, Justin Robertson; her sisters, LouJean Willis, Geneva Hopkins, Josephine Henshaw, Joyceann Conlley, and Sue Wilburn; and her brothers, Steve DeWitt and Walter Ray DeWitt.

A visitation will be held on March 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at New Funeral Homes, located at 248 W Seminary St, PO Box 474, Owenton, Kentucky 40359. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Wheatley Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Owen County Friends of Animals.
