Betty Jean Davis

Betty Jean Davis, age 88, of the Squiresville community passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at her home.Born May 9, 1929, in Muncie, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Eva Wainscott Beckham and the widow of Marvin Porter Davis.  Betty was a member of the Methodist faith and a homemaker.  She was an avid crafter and enjoyed quilting and basket weaving.  She like traveling but her most loved hobby was fishing!Surviving are her children, Rita Davis (Steve) English of Owensboro, Dennis (Chris) Davis of Glencoe, Greg (Jan) Davis of Lexington, Kevin (Tina) Davis of Worthville and Tim Davis of Lexington; her grandchildren, Courtney, Taylor, Jared, Samantha, Nathan, and  Zachary Davis, Jeremy and Shawn Shields, Nikki Shields Cooper, Melissa Barnes and Kadee Stivers Peyton; great grandchildren, Tillie, Lockett, Claire, Grace, Steven, Tyler, Alexandria, Griffin, and Porter.  Betty is also survived by her dear friend Ty Watson.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 5-8 pm.  Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday with Bro. Jesse Bourne presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank at Remnant Baptist Church, 120Clay Lick Road, Owenton, KY 40359.
